Puerto rican monfongo my favorite!

Monfongo is my favorite Puerto Rican dish. There are restaurants in Puerto Rico that serve only Monfongo prepared in a variety of ways. I like it with lots of garlic served in a pilon. Monfongo has its origins in the African heritage of the island of Puerto Rico. Plaintains "platanos," "guineos," "yame," are of African origins, the most popular are the pasteles, preparing them still a tradition in my own family passed down to my older sister. From the finest most expensive restaurants to the humble road side cafes and kiosk Monfongo is a distinctively island dish and called the King cuisine. Who prepares the best Monfongo in town? Whether in a house or a restaurant let me know to crown the local Monfongo King and Queen of Buffalo.
